At a presentation in the Trident Hotel a cheque for €40,000 was presented to the RNLI, the proceeds of the 2008 Kinsale Rib Run. Anne Sweeney, Area Manager for the RNLI accepted the cheque from Chairman Ashley Smyth.
15 May We hope you all got home safely and the bumps and bruises have healed!! It's a problem I know, but can everyone make an extra effort to collect sponsorship money and lodge it as soon as possible. The Cheque presentation has moved forward 1 day to Sat June 28th in the Trident Kinsale at 8pm also on Sat 28th, A spin to cape from kinsale is planned....anybody want to join us?? Please note this in your diary. There will be a photo CD and a DVD for each Skipper to copy for his crew ****
28th April Well, we got there and we got back. Examiner & Echo pics now on Media page Please organise your Rib Run photos onto a CD and give to any Committee member. These will be combined with others for each skipper & crew ****

NEXT MEETING and Briefing. Trident hotel Monday 21st April at 8pm Pilotage books, Clothing, Irish, Welsh and Group flags along with goodie bag to be given out. It is important Skippers attend please.
Tenby Lifeboat Station have invited all the crews to visit the boathouse on Saturday 26th between 1100 & 1300. They have agreed to let the crews onto the latest hi Tech Lifeboat in service, the fly by wire Tamar class. Not to be missed!!

Media pages added, also a page with suggested items to be carried in your Toolbox **** March 1 The Rib Run was launched officially by the Mayor of Kinsale, Cllr Mary Evans at the Trident last Friday evening. Examiner picture on Media link. **** February 5th A list of Accomodation is now provided. Book early to get into the Rib Run Hotel. Limited Single places. Click on the link at the left. **** Press Launch of Event and General Crew meeting, Trident Hotel, Kinsale. Friday 29th February at 8pm. Light refreshments will be available. Registrations and Clothing orders will be dealt with at this meeting. **** February 1st 2008 Rib Run Clothing Preview launched. Click on the link. Pilotage notes have been added **** January 10th 2008 This years Rib Run is to the Welsh town of Tenby and will take place on April 24th - 27th The Rib Run will be from Kinsale to Neyland Marina which is at the head of the Milford Haven Estuary. This has an all tide access and more importantly has a bar and restuarant. The marina management have agreed a rate of Stg£10.00 per boat per night. Riverside Diesel and Petrol are available nearby at other marinas. Tenby is about 15 minutes away by road and we will be arranging transport to and from the marina. ( This cost has yet to be finalised) A list of agreed hotels will be posted shortly |
